Structural Integration, Massage Therapy and Post-partum rehabilitation in Amsterdam

What is Structural Integration?

Structural Integration is a form of Manual Therapy based on holistic principles. We work globally and locally in a process of Unwinding the body in steps. 12 steps or series. By opening the body layer by layer and integrating these changes we don't only achieve an efficient, sustainable and autonomous system but we also give space for someone to release old patterns and open up for something new. "We discover who we are by letting go of who we are not" - Michael A. Singer. There is a body and also a personal transformation.

How does it work?
Albert will make a postural assessment with you and explain you what he sees and what are the targets for the 1st and the whole series of sessions. There is a starting point and an end.

History of Structural Integration
Structural Integration was brought to life thanks to Ida Rolf in the 1950's. While Structural Integration is the generic name, it was famously known as Rolfing and people used to get "Rolfed". Very catchy!

At Postural Patterns we offer a non dogmatic and person centred Structural Integration process where the main focus is on the client and their needs. Albert studied SI with Anatomy Trains

The 12 Series of sessions

The 12 series is a process developed from the original 10 series of Ida Rolf with 2 additional sessions for the "Spiral Line" and an Arms session, a dedicated session for the shoulders and arms.

The 12 ATSI Sessions are divided in 3 blocks:

  • Outer "sleeve": Front, Back, Sides and Spiral Line of the human body
  • Deep Core: Work on deep structures into creating the most postural/structural changes
  • Integration Sessions: Integrating the changes, connecting the dots and evoking new novel movement in the body
