Referred to below as “I”, “me” or “the practice”. You are referred to as “you” or “the client”.

2. When these terms apply

These terms apply to every booking, session, series and gift card purchased from Postural Patterns, whether booked online, by email, by phone or in person.

By completing a booking you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. A copy is available to download at any time from posturalpatterns.com/terms.

If I change these terms, the version in force at the time of your booking is the version that applies to that booking. Superseded versions are archived and available on request.

3. Booking and confirmation

3.1 A booking is confirmed when you receive the confirmation email. Until then, the time is not held.

3.2 I may decline or end a booking where the work would not be safe or appropriate for you, or where Article 12 applies.

3.3 If I have to cancel or move a session. Illness, emergency, or circumstances outside my control. I will tell you as soon as I can and offer the earliest alternative. Anything you have already paid for that session is refunded in full or credited, as you prefer.

3.4 The treatment location is confirmed in your booking confirmation. Where the practice operates from more than one room, the address for your session is always the one stated in that confirmation.

4. Prices and payment

4.1 All prices shown on the website are in euros and include VAT (BTW). No administration or booking fees are added.

4.2 Payment is either online at the time of booking, or in person at the session by card, cash or payment link, depending on the option you select.

4.3 Where I send a payment link after a session, payment is due within seven days.

4.4 Prices may change. The price that applies is the one shown at the time you book. Series and gift cards already purchased are unaffected by later price changes.

5. Series

5.1 A series is a set of sessions purchased together at a reduced rate. Current series and their contents are listed on the website.

5.2 A series is valid for twelve months from the date of purchase. Sessions not used within that period expire. I will remind you before a series is close to expiring, and I can extend the period at my discretion where there is good reason. illness, pregnancy, an extended absence.

5.3 A series is personal to you and cannot be transferred or resold.

5.4 A series is not refundable once sessions have been used, except as set out in Article 6.

5.5 To use a series, book the session as normal and select the redemption option at checkout.

6. Right of withdrawal (online purchases)

6.1 Where you purchase a series or gift card online and have not yet used any part of it, you may withdraw within fourteen days of purchase and receive a full refund. Contact me by email; no reason is needed.

6.2 Where you have used part of a series within those fourteen days, the withdrawal right still applies to the remainder. The value of the sessions already taken is deducted at the standard single-session rate.

6.3 Where you book a single session that falls within fourteen days of booking, you are asking me to begin performing the service inside the withdrawal period. Once that session has taken place, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to it. Article 7 governs from that point.

7. Cancelling, moving and missed sessions

7.1 You can cancel or move a session free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time, using the link in your confirmation email or by replying to it.

7.2 Inside 24 hours, 50% of the session fee is payable.

7.3 Where a session is missed without notice, the full fee is payable.

7.4 Where the session was booked against a series, a late cancellation or missed session uses one session from that series on the same basis.

7.5 I apply this policy with judgement, not automatically. Illness, an emergency, a first occurrence, I will usually waive it. Waiving it once does not mean I have given up the right to apply it.

7.6 If you arrive late, the session ends at its scheduled time and the full fee applies. If you arrive very late, I may have to treat the session as missed.

8. Gift cards

8.1 Gift cards are valid for twenty-four months from the date of purchase and can be used against any service.

8.2 Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash and are not refundable, except under Article 6.

8.3 A gift card can be transferred to another person before it is used.

8.4 Where a gift card carries an issue date but no expiry date, it remains valid for five years from issue.

9. Composed and bespoke arrangements

Some work: the Maternity Journey, extended sessions, combinations arranged individually, is agreed in conversation rather than bought from the website. Where that happens, the specific terms we agree (scope, price, payment schedule, validity) are confirmed to you in writing and take precedence over Articles 5 and 8 where they differ. Everything else in these terms still applies.

10. What this work is, and what it is not

10.1 I am a bodywork practitioner. I am not a doctor, and this work is not a medical treatment. I do not diagnose conditions and I do not prescribe.

10.2 This work sits alongside medical care. It does not replace it. If you have a health concern, see your GP or specialist. Never stop or change prescribed treatment on the basis of anything discussed in a session.

10.3 Some conditions mean this work should be adapted, postponed, or not done at all. This is why the health intake in Article 11 exists and why it needs to be accurate and complete.

10.4 Bodywork can produce temporary soreness, tiredness or emotional response in the days after a session. This is normal. Tell me if anything concerns you.

10.5 Tell me during a session if anything is uncomfortable or if you want the pressure changed. You can pause or stop a session at any point, for any reason, without explanation.

11. Your health information

11.1 Before your first session I ask you to complete a health intake, and I keep a record of each session afterwards. This is how I work safely and how I track what changes over time.

11.2 Health information is a special category of personal data under the GDPR (AVG). I process it on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when you complete the intake, and which you can withdraw at any time.

11.3 Your clinical record is kept separately from my booking system and my email system. It is stored in an encrypted form that only I can open, on equipment I control. Where a backup copy is held with a cloud provider, it is encrypted before it leaves my machine, so the provider stores unreadable data and cannot access the contents. My booking and contact systems hold your name, contact details, and which sessions you booked, nothing clinical.

11.4 Clinical records are retained for twenty years from the last contact, in line with Dutch practice for treatment records. You can ask me to destroy your record earlier, and I will do so within one month unless the law requires me to keep it.

11.5 You can ask to see your record, ask for corrections, or ask for a copy, at any time. Just email me.

11.6 Photographs are never taken without your separate, specific, written consent. Consent to photographs is asked for in the treatment room, in person, on its own form. Declining has no effect whatsoever on your treatment, and you can withdraw consent later and have existing photographs deleted.

11.7 Full detail, every category of data, every purpose, every processor, and your rights, is set out in the privacy statement at posturalpatterns.com/privacy.

12. Conduct

12.1 This is a professional treatment setting. You will be appropriately draped throughout, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.

12.2 Any sexual comment, suggestion or advance ends the session immediately. The full fee remains payable and no further bookings will be accepted.

12.3 I may end a session where you are intoxicated, or where behaviour makes it impossible for me to work safely.

13. Liability

13.1 I am liable only for direct damage resulting from a failure attributable to me. Liability for indirect or consequential damage, including lost income, travel costs and missed appointments, is excluded so far as the law permits.

13.2 Where liability is established and my liability insurer makes a payment in the matter, my liability is limited to the amount of that payment.

13.3 I am not liable for damage arising from information you gave me that was incorrect or incomplete, including anything omitted from or misstated in the health intake.

13.4 I am not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings brought to the practice.

13.5 Nothing in this article limits my liability where the damage results from intent or deliberate recklessness on my part, or where Dutch mandatory law does not permit the limitation.

14. Complaints

14.1 If something is wrong, tell me first, please. Most things can be resolved in a conversation. Email albert@posturalpatterns.com and I will give you a response within six weeks of receiving your complaint.

14.2 If we cannot resolve it together, you are of course free to seek independent advice or assistance.

15. Changes

I may change these terms. Changes take effect for bookings made after the new version is published. The version and date at the top of this page tell you which version is current.

16. Law and jurisdiction

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent Dutch court, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings in the court of your own place of residence.
